The officer assessed the proposal against Housing Policy 15, which normally limits extensions to traditionally styled countryside properties to 50% of existing floor space but allows exceptions.
Housing Policy 15
Requires extensions to traditionally styled countryside properties to respect proportion, form and appearance; normally limits to 50% of existing floorspace externally, only exceptionally more. Officer calculated 42% addition to current (post-flat annex) and 62% to original; partial non-compliance on size outweighed by cosmetic improvements (pitched roofs, window replacements) enhancing public views, justifying 'exception' as scheme improves overall traditional character.
