Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
M P Associates Ltd
12 Strathallan Crescent
Douglas
Isle Of Man
IM2 4NR
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Ms Julie Hurst
Proposal:
Erection of a timber building to be used as a farm shop with new access and parking
at:
Field 524048
Hampton Court
Quines Hill
Port Soderick
Isle Of Man
IM4 1AZ
which was considered on 28th August 2009, for the reasons set out below. Date of Issue: 1st September 2009 Murray House Mount Havelock
Douglas
Secretary to the Planning
Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The proposed location, siting and required boundary alterations would have a significant detrimental impact upon the visual amenities and character of the countryside which is zoned as being of High Landscape or Coastal Value and Scenic Significance and therefore would be contrary to Environmental Policy 2, 15 and 17 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan.
- Notwithstanding the first reason for refusal, the planning authority has added concerns that approval of this scheme would be premature until a proven and established need has been justified.
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
