In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Local Government and the Environment does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:

Name: Cable And Wireless IOM Ltd Proposal: Erection of antenna and creation of a communications compound at: Field 524278 West Baldwin Road Mount Rule Isle of Man which was considered on 11th June 2009, for the reasons set out below. Reason(S) For Refusal:

1. The proposed development would be contrary to Infrastructure Policy 3, Environment Policies 1 and 2, General Policy 3 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 and Policy 13.4 of the Braddan Local Plan 1991 by reason of its height, siting and design would result in a conspicuous and incongruous development out of keeping and scale with the surrounding area to the detriment of the visual amenities of the locality. Furthermore, it has not been fully demonstrated that there is an essential need for a mast at this particular location.

This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
