The comment stated;
I object to this extension of carpark and new picnic area as I have livestock in fields joining chibbanagh plantation on the Douglas side and we have had sheep and lambs killed every year by dogs not being kept under control by owners. I have had to shoot numerous dogs causing distress to stock, despite the forestry divisions warning signs to the public being erected to no effect. Also I have had cows and sheep aborting due to being chased and stressed by dogs and spooked by noise from walkers mountain bikers, dogwalkers shouting to dogs/each other. The noise of dogs barking is a constant source of stress to livestock by chibbanagh, which is at its worst in the carpark where people and dogs congregate which is proposed to be extended and is only meters from my livestock making this a much bigger threat. The proposed application would greatly increase the volume of noise from people, dogs barking and cases of dogs worrying livestock and would have a serious impact on my business and welfare of my livestock. While the plantation was closed to the public over winter for tree felling, my livestock were not attacked or caused distress for the first time in memory hence proving this issue.
