Refusal Notice 11/00147/B
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Penketh - Millar 23 West Quay Ramsey Isle of Man IM8 1DL
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Infrastructure does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Mr Nigel Heaton Proposal: Alterations and erection of extensions to dwelling at: 18 Bridge Street Peel Isle of Man IM5 1NF
which was considered on 14th June 2011, for the reasons set out below.
Date of Issue: 14th June 2011
Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Mrs P Faragher Deputy Secretary to the Planning Committee
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- By raising the height of the building to include a second floor, the development would have an unacceptable impact on the character and appearance of the street scene. The scale and proportions would not respect those of the neighbouring properties; it is considered that the proposed development would have a harmful impact on the appearance of the building, which would neither preserve or enhance the character of the Conservation Area which would be contrary to Environment Policy 35 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan (20th June 2007).
This decision was made by the Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to her under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
