General Policy 6
The policy permits external advertisements in towns if they are high standard design relating well to the building/site, in keeping with the area, and not causing highway hazards. The officer assessed the signage as meeting all three tests: mirror-finish individual letters matched street precedents and related to the modern frontage; reduced size ensured no detraction from the office-dominated streetscene; elevated position avoided safety issues. Decals were tolerated despite minor dominance due to site context.
Approved plans compliance
The approval hereby made, and subject to Condition 2 below, shall not be carried out, except in accordance with the two site plans and three photographs submitted as part of the planning application, date-stamped as having been received 8th August 2013.
Maximum fascia lettering height
Notwithstanding Condition 1, above, the fascia lettering hereby approved shall not exceed 13.5 inches in height.
