THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT PROCEDURE) ORDER 2005

In pursuance of his powers under the above Act and Order, the Minister for Infrastructure, does hereby REFUSE planning application 13/00164/B by Broompark Ltd for Conversion of residential dwelling to provide four apartments, 6 Stanley Terrace, Douglas, IM2 4EP for the following reason(s):

1. The proposal is contrary to Transport Policy 7, General Policy 2(g) and General Policy 2(i) of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 in that the proposed development does not meet the Department's current parking provision requirements and as such would lead to the aggravation of on-street vehicle parking to the detriment of highway safety and the free flow of traffic in the area.

2. The proposal is contrary to Housing Policy 17 of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 in that it fails to make the best use of the property while minimising the consequent pressure on kerbside parking.
