General Policy 2
GP2 requires that development (c) does not adversely affect the character of the surrounding landscape or townscape, and (g) does not adversely affect the amenity of local residents or the character of the locality. The officer tested the porch removal and door replacement against these criteria, finding the porch not in keeping and its removal beneficial, with the new door enhancing the street scene. No tensions arose as the minor changes were positive.
