THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (DEVELOPMENT PROCEDURE) ORDER 2005

In pursuance of his powers under the above Act and Order, the Deputy Minister for Infrastructure, Mr John Shimmin, MHK, following report by the appointed person, does hereby REFUSE planning application 12/01012/B by Mrs Rose Gowland for Additional use of an existing dwelling as a children's nursery, including improvement works to the driveway and acess, at Farmhill Manor, Farmhill Lane, Douglas, IM2 2EF for the following reason(s):

1. The proposal is contrary to Transport Policy 4 and General Policy 2(i) of the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 in that the proposed use, due to the number of visitors it would generate, would be likely to result in an unacceptable impact on the safety of highway users, both pedestrian and vehicular, due to the inadequacy of the width and sightlines of the crossroads at Farmhill Park/Drive and Farmhill Lane.
