General Policy 2
General Policy 2 permits development in accordance with land-use zoning and other policies if it respects the site and surroundings in terms of siting, layout, scale, form, design; does not adversely affect townscape character or local amenities; and provides satisfactory standards. The officer tested the roof replacement for visual enhancement and uniformity, finding it compliant as it improves mismatched existing roofs without impacting neighbours or character. Paragraph 8.12.1 supports extensions/maintenance in built-up areas without adverse impacts.
