DEFA Agricultural Advisor provided detailed justification supporting the need for the agricultural building due to the contracting business and machinery value; Highways Division and Malew Parish Commissioners both stated no opposition or objection.
Key concern: available area is likely to be insufficient to ensure all machinery is housed
DEFA Agricultural Advisor
Supportthe proposed erection of an agricultural building is therefore viewed as unique from most other agricultural buildings as generally buildings specifically for machinery storage carry limited justification due to the building costs outweighing any machinery depreciation.; given the size of the agricultural contracting operation, the value of machinery and that no other buildings are available on site allowing for the storage or maintenance of machinery essential to the contracting business there is therefore a need for a building that would be beneficial for the continued operation of the business.
