Katie’s Beauty Lounge Business Plan
Business Plan – Katie’s Beauty Lounge
Date – 20th March 2014 Unit 1, 2 and 3 Clinch’s Court Development North Quay Douglas Im1 4LJ
The existing site was previously used as a retail bakery; currently within Unit 1 is a stud wall and a free-standing retail reception desk. Behind the stud wall is a sink area and counter area (presumably for the production of baked goods). A toilet is situated within the passage leading from Unit 1 (with the emergency exit facing) to Unit 2. Unit 2 continues to an empty room with nothing within the area apart from the main electrical board. Unit 3 is a stand-alone unit accessed separately and independently thorough a main door situated on front façade. Unit 3 currently houses the caretaker and his tools.
The new proposed business is a beauty treatment business. ‘Katie’s Lounge’ offers massage (Swedish / Aromatherapy /Purifying) treatments, manicures, facials, anti-pigmentation treatments, micro-dermabrasion treatments, full body-waxing and spray tan applications. Unit 1 will have the stud walls taken down and new stud walls will be constructed to create two treatment rooms with an open plan reception area. The toilet will remain the same as will the emergency exit position.
Unit 2 will have two stud walls erected to undertake spray tan applications which will utilize the same extraction system as the toilet, which will be situated directly next to the new spray tan room. The rest of the area will have fixed seating around the perimeter of the room. The electrical board will have new facing and be enclosed within a stylish panel (access will stay the same) to fall inline with the new aesthetic look. Unit 3 will be accessed from the existing door, which is outside along the front facade. No building work will be undertaken at this time and customers will use the separate entrance. This unit will be for nail manicures and will house manicure tables.
The main staff will consist of Katie Gilman, the owner of the business and 2 other self-employed nail technicians. Hours of opening will be 8am until 6pm Monday – Saturday.
Date of operation – the owner and commercial leasing company Black Grace Cowley have been informed of application as of 20th March 2014.
No alterations will be made to the outside of the building apart from Katie’s branding which will be applied onto the windows along side opening times and company details such as telephone and website details.
