From: McDermott, Ian To: Cc: Riddell, Lydia; Harrison, Charles; DEFA, Forestry General Enquiries; DEFA, Planning Subject: RE: Lodge Cottage, Ballavarry Farm, Andreas - 25/90408/B Erection of agricultural shed Date: 25 June 2025 14:03:41 Dear Mr Storie,
Your email has been forwarded to me for action.
Thank you for supplying the photos which have confirmed that the tree is indeed worthy of protection. I do note that you included a remark about having taken advice from an Arborist in your covering letter as part of your submission – but this was not detailed in any way.
When assessing a planning application for potential conflicts with trees we can only judge on the information supplied, and there was none, so we requested that this information be supplied in our response to the consultation. Once you have complied with this, based upon any decision from the planning case officer, then we can consider revising our comments back to them.
So, at this juncture we are not able to withdraw our objections. I realise that this may not be the answer you were hoping for, but we are bound by the planning policies and associated best practice in this matter.
Regards

Caution: This email is from an external sender. Please take care before opening any attachments or following any links. Good evening, Following on from our phone-call regarding your request for AIS to BS5837 including TPP, you requested some photos and to respond to your comments on the Gov site, the site is having some technical difficulties and I am unable to login to make a comment for some reason, I have enclosed the photos of the trees I think you may have concern with, its not easy to see but they root far below the proposed site planning as they reside in a Deep soak away area adjacent to the land. As discussed I met with a long time friend and he advised the shed site location and to keep 10 meters from the large A class sycamore, we included a 10 m root protection area in the plan for this, and he seen no other issues with the shed location submitted, If you have any other questions or requests please feel free to send an email, and when possible would you be able to update your side of the Government application. Many thanks
