The proposal was approved because it does not harm the character of the area or highway safety or parking and has an acceptable impact on neighbouring amenities.
Two nearby residents strongly object to the proposed vehicular access and parking area due to safety risks on a busy road and footpath.
Key concern: dangerous vehicle access crossing busy footpath onto main road near beach access, hazardous for pedestrians including disabled and children
Flat 1 Lyndhurst Stanley Mount East
ObjectionAs a person with a disability I cross the road right on the pavement where the owner of beach house wants to put his drive way.; This will be an accident waiting to happen with a car coming off the proposed driveway a car flying up the road or down and a pedestrian coming up from the beach with excited kids running.; the original application in 2020 the owner of beach house had the planning passed when he had the original garage knocked down on the other side of the house as he said it was too dangerous to exit the property via the pavement onto a busy main road.
Flat 4 Pier View Stanley Mount East
ObjectionThe proposed vehicle access to the property will have to mount and cross a busy footpath used by pedestrians, dog walkers and invalidity scooters.; when this build was started over four years ago objections were made on the grounds that no parking facilities were included in the massive build, however plans were passed as it was deemed by the applicant that it was too dangerous to exit the property via the footpath onto the busy main road.
