Re: Planning application for the erection of a small awning at the front of premises to cover the outside licensed seating area – Henderson & Glass, 11, Castle Street, Douglas IM1 2EX.
Dear Sir/Madam,
Firstly, I’d like to thank the Department for the assistance I’ve received from them on this journey, great to see in these times of people consistently knocking Government departments.
I find myself applying to you for the erection of the above so that we can enhance our customers experience when they wish to sit outside and watch the World go by in the charming Castle Street. Sadly, we are not blessed with continental weather so offering cover for the rain will be popular.
Awnings are not a new innovation in Castle Street, looking at the Heritage pictures from yesteryear almost every shop had one to protect their goods from that Sun thing. We have chosen a neutral black colour that is in keeping with the colour of the whole property. I feel will only enhance the appearance and appeal of the property for the good of Douglas, tourism and subsequently our viability.
Dimensions and specifications;
To be installed at a height of 3 metres with a width of 4.5 metres and a projection of 3 metres. The pitch will be 10 degrees to allow for water dispersal. The material is fully fireproof and the to the highest production safety standards.
