From: Lezayre Parish Commissioners To: DEFA, Planning Subject: Fwd: Lezayre recent planning application 25/90186/GB Date: 21 March 2025 14:02:18 Attachments: Planning applications Mar 25.pdf Caution: This email is from an external sender. Please take care before opening any attachments or following any links. Good afternoon. On 12th March 2025 I sent a letter to you from Lezayre Parish Commissioners, attached, asking for further information on the proposed gate access at Milntown off Crossags Lane so that the Commissioners could properly consider the planning application. This request was made before the deadline for objections however the information has not been provided and I see from the Planning website that the application has now gone to recommendation and/or committee without the view of the Commissioners having been taken into account. Their letter does not even appear as a document on the website. Please could you advise the way forward on this as the Commissioners would like to have some input on this planning application. Many thanks. Lynn Smith -- Forwarded Message -- Subject:Lezayre recent planning applications Date:Wed, 12 Mar 2025 12:24:19 +0000 From:Lezayre Parish Commissioners [email protected] Organisation:Lezayre Parish Commissioners To:[email protected] Good morning. Please find attached Commissioners' responses to recent planning applications in Lezayre. They were unable to reach a conclusion with regard to 25/90186/B because, as outlined in the letter, they did not feel there was enough information. Would you be able to ask the Milntown applicants further about the proposed gate please so that the Commissioners can come back with their opinions before the application is considered by Planning. I appreciate that the end date for objections is fast approaching. Many thanks. Lynn

LEZAYRE PARISH COMMISSIONERS BARRANTTEE SKYLL CHREEST NY H’ARREY www.lezayreparish.org 12th March 2025 Department of Environment Food and Agriculture Planning and Building Control Directorate Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas IM1 2SF Dear Planning The Commissioners wish to submit their views on the following planning applications: 24/91394/B Claddagh Farm, Sulby Bridge Erection of ground mounted solar pv array Conditional no objection unanimous. The Commissioners would like to see a condition of planning approval that, when the solar panels are no longer feasible, they should be removed. They also query whether the solar panels are compatible with having livestock in the vicinity. 25/90080/B Croit Aust, Andreas Road Erection of agricultural storage shed Object unanimous The Commissioners ask why this building needs to be so large. For example, there is a significant area of it set aside for animal feed but the owners have few animals. It is being classed as an agricultural building but, from what the owners themselves say, they will not really be using it as such. The Commissioners are concerned that, if the building has three phase power, it could be used for commercial purposes. They would suggest opting for something smaller under permitted development. 25/90186/B Milntown Estate Pedestian access gate off Crossags Lane The Commissioners reserved their views due to a lack of information. What is the purpose of the gate? Is it for access to the gardens or is it for exiting? They would appreciate an answer to this question so that they can consider the application further. They also feel that the gate itself should be more in keeping with the age of the property, eg. a five-bar gate. Please reply to The Clerk, Lezayre Parish Commissioners, Lezayre Community Hall, Clenagh Road, Sulby, IM7 3AB tel: 01624 890183 e-mail: [email protected]

25/90189/B East View, Sulby Bridge Erection of two semi-detached dwellings in place of existing detached dwelling (amendments to 24/00106/B) Object not unanimous The Commissioners are concerned about the age of the pipework, whether it is adequate for two properties and that the soakaway is on the boundary with its neighbour. The majority of them feel that two properties is over-development of the site. Yours sincerely Lynn Smith Lynn Smith Clerk Lezayre Parish Commissioners
