This application has been recommended for approval for the following reason. In this instance of the submitted images and documentation and after consultation with the case officer, who is happy with the level of detail, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory for the planning condition 3 of application 24/00881/B, under the understanding that the development shall not be carried out unless in accordance with the approved details.

Officer’s Report
1.0 Description 1.1 The proposed application 24/00881/B for the Installation of air source heat pump to front elevation of building was approved on 02.10.2024 subject to 3 conditions, some of which required submission of additional information prior to the commencement of works.
1.2 This report is specific to condition 3 which the applicants are seeking to satisfy.
Specific wording of the condition is as follows:
Within one month of this decision becoming final, details of screening for the approved Air Source Heat Pump shall be submitted to and approved in writing by the Department. These details shall include materials to be used for the screening, dimension details for overall height, width and length. The approved screening shall be installed within three months of the installation of the ASHP, and retained as such thereafter.

24/10119/AIR Reason: In the interests of the appearance of the development and the visual amenities of the area.
2.0 Proposal 2.1 The applicant's agent has submitted supporting documents as well as a duly completed application form.
2.2 Following correspondence between the agent and the officer of the original planning application it was confirmed that a vinyl wrap would suffice in the screening of the air source heat pump.
2.3 The applicant's agent has provided a detailed image of the print that is proposed for the vinyl wrap which is shown as a pointed Manx stone render for the purposes of blending into the surrounding area.
4.0 Recommendation 4.1 In this instance of the submitted images and documentation and after consultation with the case officer, who is happy with the level of detail, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory for the planning condition 3 of application 24/00881/B, under the understanding that the development shall not be carried out unless in accordance with the approved details.

I can confirm that this decision has been made by a Principal Planner in accordance with the authority afforded to that Officer by the appropriate DEFA Delegation and that in making this decision the Officer has agreed the recommendation in relation to who should be afforded Interested Person Status.
