When we consulted the structural engineer he instructed us to match the lintel to the existing, exterior stonework and to ensure the bifold was suitable for our 'severe exposure to the marine environment'. We followed both of these instructions. The bifolds are treated with marine powder coating and the lintel matches the existing stonework.
