RE: PA 24/10090/AIR - Information in relation to conditions 8, 9 and 10 of planning application 22/01133/B giving details for lizard hibernaculm, open space maintenance and bird boxes and hedgehog fencing, Fields 210401, 210403, 210451 & 210408, Ballagarraghyn, Bretney Road, Jurby
The Ecosystem Policy Team can confirm that we are mostly content with the information in Hartford Home’s Phase 2 Wildlife Mitigation Sheets 1 -3, and Ecology Vannin’s Technical Note for Jurby Phase 1 dated August 2024.
We are content with the following: · Location and construction details of the lizard hibernacula; · Location and construction of the butterfly banks; · Treatment of invasive species; · Native hedge planting; · Measures for the protection of boundary hedges and trees; · Type and location of bat bricks, bee bricks, swift bricks, house martin boxes and collared dove boxes; · Plans for the creation and management of the species-rich grassland and scrub areas; · Fencing which enables wildlife migration.
However, the Manx Wildlife Trust’s /Ecology Vannin’s ‘Preliminary Ecological Appraisal’ and ‘Technical Note: Biodiversity Metric and Ecological Plan - Ballagarraghyn’ which accompanied PA 22/01133/B, both referenced the erection of a barn owl box and this is not yet shown on the plans. Can a note be provided detailing where this will be erected?
Best wishes
Sophie
