Subject: Response to Planning Department Request - Soft Landscape and Fence Extension for Mr. Paul Kennedy at Seascape Mount Gawne Road Port St Mary Isle Of Man IM9 5LX.
I am writing in response to the recent correspondence from the Isle of Man Planning Department regarding the planning application for the property at Seascape Mount Gawne Road Port St Mary Isle Of Man IM9 5LX. Please find below the details of the proposed soft landscaping and raise the height of the fence, in relation to the scope of work on the site. Sketch attached with this letter.
The current development involves a larger block, of which only one side is designated for soft landscaping. The attached photographs illustrate the area under preparation, which is the focus of this proposal. The planting works will be confined solely to this side, as indicated, and will include the following:
The primary purpose of this planting scheme is to enhance privacy for each property within the development. The proposed planting will act as a natural screening barrier, helping to provide each property with a degree of separation and privacy from neighboring units. The details are as follows:
Elaeagnus ebbingei: 7 specimens, approximately 2 to meters in height from the soil. Selected for their dense foliage, resilience, and suitability for the location, providing effective screening.
Olearia traversii: 5 specimens, approximately 3 feet in height from the soil. Chosen for their attractive seasonal foliage and visual interest.
New Zealand Flax (Phormium tenax): 4 specimens, approximately 2 feet in height. Incorporated for their structural form and texture.
Seasonal Plants: A selection of seasonal flowering plants will be added to further enhance the landscape, providing color and biodiversity.
The planting area will be finished with gravel to ensure a neat, low-maintenance, and durable surface that complements the planting scheme.
Additionally, it is proposed to extend the existing boundary fence to a height of two meters on one side of the property (excluding the front boundary). This extension will further reinforce privacy and boundary demarcation, complementing the planting scheme.
This proposal is prepared with consideration of the Isle of Man's planning policies. The works are limited to the designated side of the block, as shown in the photographs, and are solely intended for privacy enhancement without impacting the character of the area.
We trust this clarifies the scope and purpose of the landscaping works and look forward to your further instructions or approval.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require additional information.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
