The builder must determine that no services are
located in the area of the excavations.
The areas of work must be scanned using a
buried services detector.
If services are detected then the location must
be marked and the investigation relocated to an
area with no services.
Prior to commencement of any excavation of the
existing floor slab the contractor must carry out
sufficient trial excavations to ensure the existing
stonework wall is founded deeper than any
proposed internal excavation.
Proof of this site check MUST be provided to the
engineer and client.
No work is to proceed until the engineer and or
client has achnowledged the investigation results
are satisfactory.
