App 21/00527/B limits stays to 4 nights. Last year the Council was contacted by Hymer Club International for a booking of 18 motorhomes visiting the island for 7 days. The Council was only able to take a booking for 4 nights so the party had to move on after 4 days resulting in a loss of economic benefit to Douglas businesses. The Council now seeks approval to permit motorhomes participating in an organised motorhome rally or similar pe-arranged event to be permitted to stay for up to 14 nights. Declaration The Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture (DEFA) is a controller for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 and related legislation and requires the information supplied by this application in the public interest to comply with obligations under the Town and Country Planning Act 1999 and its subordinate Orders and Regulations.
