Hi Helen, Dawn,
From the Planning List 12 April 2024 and excluding planning applications with suffix ‘CON’ and re- consultations, the following new planning applications have highway related impacts and will be subject to a separate response:
· 24/00387/B · 24/00419/B
The following planning applications have no significant negative impact upon the highway network in terms of highway safety, highway operation and car parking. Highway Services HDC does not oppose (DNO) the following applications. Advisory comments are applied where relevant, such as for licences to use the highway for equipment and material during works:
· 24/00362/C– After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking, as the existing access arrangements for the dwelling are acceptable for the proposed tourist use. The Applicant should consider an EV charging point for the proposals to aid Net Zero ambitions. · 24/00377/B – After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking, as the layout and site access is acceptable for the proposals. · 24/00378/B – After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking, as there is enough driveway available for the intensification of the site. · 24/00383/B – After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking. · 24/00389/C– After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking, as the proposals are in Douglas city centre with car parking available within the centre for visitors and TRO parking restrictions in the vicinity of the site. · 24/00404/B – After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking, as the existing access arrangements are acceptable for the proposals. If not already available on-site, the Applicant should consider an EV charging point for visitors to aid Net Zero ambitions. · 24/00412/B – After reviewing this Application, Highway Services HDC finds it to have no significant negative impact upon highway safety, network functionality and/or parking, as the position of the heron sculpture will not hamper the visibility splay at the Back Hope Street/Castle Street junction for a 20mph speed limit road on Castle Street. It is advised that the applicant confirms to the planning department that the sculpture can withstand extreme winds which can occur in this location so it does not fall onto the highway or harbour in an extreme weather event.
Highway Services HDC has no interest (NHI) in:
