Officer’s Report

1.0 Description

1.1 The proposed application 23/01446/B for the courtyard and beach area to be used as temporary event and bar space; installation of additional seating and stretch tent; alterations to WC block was approved on 14.12.2023 subject to 2 conditions one of which required submission of additional information prior to the commencement of works.

1.2 This report is specific to Condition 2 which the applicants are seeking to satisfy.

1.3 Specific wording of the condition as follows:

24/10015/AIR "Details of the form, the materials, and the position of the fixings for the proposed stretch tent canopy are to be submitted and approved in writing by the Department prior to installation. Thereafter, the stretch tent canopy is to be installed in accordance with the approved details.

Reason: To ensure that the setting of the registered building is preserved and protected."

2.0 Proposal

2.1 The applicant's agent have now submitted Cosy Nook Application for the Discharge of Conditions and Cozy Nook Planning Condition Discharge 20 01446 B Cover Letter which contains information on the position of the fixings, the form and materials for the proposed tent as well as methods to be employed for the installation. The colour will be 'chino' a light beige with the fabric being a fire-retardant, waterproof, UV repellent and PVC coated polyester stretch fabric with a smooth, matt finish with a water-repellent lotus effect on the outside and a soft, organic feel, to the inside.

3.0 Recommendation

3.1 In the instance of the submitted Cosy Nook Application for the Discharge of Conditions and Cozy Nook Planning Condition Discharge 20 01446 B Cover Letter and after consultation with the case officer, who are happy with the level of detail, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory for the planning condition 2 of application 23/01446/B with the understanding that the stretch tent canopy is to be installed in accordance with the approved details.
