General Policy 2
General Policy 2 permits development in accordance with land-use zoning and other policies provided it respects the site and surroundings in terms of siting, layout, scale, form, design; does not adversely affect the character of the townscape or amenity of residents; and meets other criteria. The officer assessed the rear alterations as compliant since they do not significantly alter appearance, are not highly visible, and cause no amenity harm.
Environment Policy 35
Environment Policy 35 permits only development within Conservation Areas that preserves or enhances the character or appearance of the Area and protects special features. The rear works were deemed not to adversely affect the character and appearance due to low visibility from public views and utilisation of existing openings.
Time limit
The development hereby permitted shall commence before the expiration of four years from the date of this notice.

This permission relates to the installation of replacement French doors and remove two existing windows to create additional French doors as shown in drawings Location Plan, Drawing 2 and Drawing 3 received 17th July 2012.
