1.0 The Site
1.1 The application site represents the curtilage of Restart Unit, Isle Of Man Business Park, Douglas. The existing property is currently used for light industrial/office space, and is within an area zoned for Industrial use identified on the Braddan Local Plan 1991.
The Proposal
Proposed is the installation of louvred vent board to replace existing first floor window to the south elevation.
Planning History
There are previous applications for the erection of industrial units, and for change of use. Erection of a two storey office extension - 06/01300/B – APPROVED Erection of office building for use following emergencies with car parking -98/00812/B – APPROVED Approval in principle for future extension to proposed office building for use following emergencies - 98/00813/A - APPROVED Extension to office building for use following emergencies (currently under construction) - 98/02169/B – APPROVED
Development Plan Policies
The application site is within an area zoned for Industrial use identified on the Braddan Local Plan 1991.

No representations have been received.
Assessment
The proposed alteration is a very modest proposal which will have little visual impact upon the property or the street scene. Further to this, given that the site is within an Industrial area, it is considered that the impact of the louvred vent board would not be detrimental to the character and appearance of the area.
Recommendation
In conclusion, it is recommended that the planning application be approved on the planning policy grounds that the development would be acceptable to the Isle of Man Strategic Plan (June 2007).
Party Status
The local authority is, by virtue of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005, paragraph 6 (5) (c) and (d), considered an "interested person" and as such should be afforded party status.
