The Applicant would like to retain more of the existing building than had previously been desired. He now desires to retain as much of the existing external wall, stairwell and floor structure as is practicable. He would like to replace the existing windows retaining the existing apertures, and install a number of the new windows in the same locations shown under the approved drawings. He would also like to retain and refurbish the existing stairwell to provide access throughout the existing floors and up to the new apartment level under the approved drawings, so the new stair and lift have been removed. The Applicant would also like to retain the shopfront to West Quay. Essentially the Parliament Street elevation remains as the approved drawing, the elevation to West Quay changes the new shopfront back to the existing shopfront and the alley elevation is a blend of the existing and new approved windows - the bin store remains from the approved drawing, but the new entrance perviously approved is now removed. As the existing stairwell is being refurbished we have amended the plan layout of the apartment on third floor, and the office floors are now shown as open plan. We have prepared a drawing 1658.04 P10 so that you may compare the proposed amendments with the existing approved application drawings.
