Refusal Decision Notice
Town and Country Planning Act 1999
Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
John Potts Ballahowin Orrisdale Kirk Michael Isle Of Man IM6 2HP
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the Department of Infrastructure does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: John Potts Proposal: Approval in principle for conversion of existing stables to ancillary living accommodation at: Ballahowin Orrisdale Kirk Michael Isle Of Man IM6 2HP
which was considered on 24th July 2012, for the reasons set out below. Date of Issue: 25th July 2012 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- The property is not of architectural, social or historical interest and as such could not comply with the provisions of Housing Policy 11. As such, there is no provision within the Strategic Plan for the creation of a dwelling through the conversion of the dwelling to a self-contained unit, albeit intended as ancillary accommodation to the main dwelling, and the proposal would be contrary to General Policy 3.
This decision was made by a Senior Planning Officer in accordance with the authority delegated to them under Article 3(13) of the Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
