8. Description of the proposed development. Please state clearly what you propose to do.

Manx Utilities propose to construct a storage area for creosote treated wood poles on an unused area of the Meary Veg site. The proposed area was previously used as a site compound for construction works associated with PA 14 / 00578 / 8 and is already covered with a layer of hardcore.

The proposal comprises the construction of a 4 m wide access road and a 40 \mathrm{~m} \times 40 \mathrm{~m} storage area. The storage area will be regraded and have 50 mm clean gravel laid over an impermeable liner to capture rain water run off. The rain water run off will be drained to a creosote interceptor which will have have an alarm fitted which can be remotely monitored.

The wood pole storage comprises a number of steel frames which will be configured to provide secure storage bays for different sizes and grades of wood pole (see photograph). 9. a) Please state the existing use of the site (e.g. residential, office, retail etc.) b) Please state the proposed use of the site.
