Description: Replacement of two ground floor windows with a roller shutter door

Highway Comments: There is contradictory information in the application as the application form states that the proposed roller shutter door would be to facilitate vehicular access into the building. However, the accompanying letter to the Planning Department dated 04/03/19 states that there would be no vehicles going into the building.

Highway Services opposes the application on highway safety grounds as the proposed vehicular access into the building would have zero visibility in both directions of vehicles and pedestrians when exiting onto the adjacent public highway. There is no legal vehicular crossing with dropped kerbs adjacent to the proposed shutter door and Highway Services would not enter into a Section 109A Highway Agreement to provide such due to the highway safety objection to the proposal.
