Dear Sir,
Planning Application – PA 18/01208/B Chequers Bar
Comments from Flat 1 – Cherry Orchard
As you know the tourist operation at Cherry Orchard was forced to close as a result of the recommendations of the Rent & Rates Tribunal, which made it impossible for the hotel to continue to trade as tourist premises.
Chequers remains closed and is rather sad and dilapidated.
We understand that the change of use to retail is because a local trader needs premises whilst he renovates his current location.
We also understand that the long term aim of Cherry Orchard is to operate as residential apartments.
We have no objection. In fact the building would benefit from a little more life and the car parking arrangements are not a requirement but offer a better situation than exists for the shops in the street at the moment.
If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards
Yours faithfully,
P.C.S. Thrussell
