The comment stated; We have studied this application in detail given its Registered status. We also have a particular interest in the church having recently given a 72,000 \mathrm{grant} towards the restoration of the Victorian East Window . We congratulate those involved in the planning of the children's area through the reuse of benches and materials. With regard to the proposed removal of a choir stall behind the organ, the proposals are not clear enough. The report from the church authorities recommends ' a rail be provided behind the bench at the end of the back pew.' The application form refers to a rail being installed but there are no details provided by way of plan, elevation or section. A notation on a photograph refers to a step not conforming to Building Regulations (it would be covered by 'deemed to satisfy') but there are no details as to whether it is proposed to install an intermediate step to overcome the 17 inch rise. It is not clear if the short pews either side of the organ are to remain and if so what protection there is for the occupants in relation in the drop in level. We ask that a more detailed plan/elevation/ section of this area be supplied for inspection by the public. We also recommend that the newly appointed Registered Buildings Officer contact the applicant over this matter.
