NOTE. In this instance of the submitted application for the discharge of conditions as well as an Archaeology Method Statement and after consultation with the case officer, who is happy with the level of detail, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory to meet planning condition 6 of application 21/01567/B, with the understanding that development will be carried out in accordance with the approved programme.

Officer’s Report
1.0 Description
1.1 The proposed application 21/01567/B for the replacement of existing dwelling with the erection of 7 detached dwellings integral garages and associated access, drainage and landscaping was approved on 20/06/2022 subject to 18 conditions some of which required submission of additional information prior to the commencement of works.
1.2 This report is specific to Condition 6 which the applicants are seeking to satisfy.
1.3 Specific wording of the condition as follows:

No development shall commence on site until a programme of archaeological work, to include excavations where required, has been submitted to and approved in writing by the Department. The programme shall include the degree of supervision by a qualified archaeologist. Development shall be carried out in accordance with the approved programme.
Reason: To ensure that any archaeological remains and features are properly recorded."
2.0 Proposal
2.1 The applicant has now submitted an application for the discharge of conditions as well as an Archaeology Method Statement which covers the methods for archaeological work on the site including excavations and details of the supervising methods by qualified archaeologists.
3.0 Consultation
3.1 Manx National Heritage were consulted for advice on the satisfaction of the condition. The advice received on 11/10/2023, after their review of the submitted documents, concludes that they are pleased to confirm that the information satisfies the relevant clauses.
4.0 Recommendation
4.1 In this instance of the submitted application for the discharge of conditions as well as an Archaeology Method Statement and after consultation with the case officer, who are happy with the level of detail, it is deemed sufficient to achieve the desired outcome and would be considered satisfactory for the planning condition 6 of application 21/01567/B with the understanding that development will be carried out in accordance with the approved programme.
