The drainage plan indicates that the proposed driveway will fall away from the existing public highway so we are satisfied that there will be no increase in surface water (SW) runoff on to it from the property. We note that SW runoff from the property is to be taken to a soakaway located at the front of the building. This will require Building Control approval and ideally they would have witnessed the infiltration tests to confirm that a soakaway is viable. If for any reason the soakaway fails then surface water is unlikely to drain onto the highway. In these situations however it’s been known for some property owners to drain the SW runoff into the foul sewer to alleviate flooding. This can pose problems for Manx Utilities (MU) who are responsible for the foul sewer network so I’ve copied Ian Wade in for his comments.
Kind regards
Chris

Good Morning Chris,
I hope your well. Sorry to be chasing the consultation request especially due to the fact you only got back on Monday but would it be at all possible to get a response on this as soon as you can. Again apologises to be rushing this one, it’s been all over the place till I realised it was meant for highways which was my mistake.
Have a good day,
