ELEVATION NOTES:
WALLS:
Proposed retaining walls to be clad in
Traditionally laid, reclaimed Manx stonework, using the
stone from the demolished barn where practicable.
Wall top to be grassed to tie in with grassed area
above to match style of existing walls on site.
1100mm Post and wire fence to be installed on top of
retaining wall to prevent falling but allow clear views
through and reduce impact as from a distance fence
will not be visible.
PLANTING & LANDSCAPING:
New screening hedge to be planted above public
footpath facing walls (escallonia, elder or gorse).
Hedge to be kept to same height as post and wire
fence (1100mm high to prevent falling).
New planting at base of field facing retaining wall to be
gorse, heather or a manx wildflower planted bank.
Garden area to be planted with local field grasses and
wildflowers to match surrounding sheep grazing fields.
SOAKAWAYS:
Excavate minimum 900mm dia pit, (depth below pipe entry to equal the dia), and fill with
hardcore evenly sized between 10-150mm dia, the larger size pieces to be packed around
the end of the inlet pipe. Fill above pipe entry level, with progressively smaller pieces,
blinded at 500mm below ground level and finally with top soil.
All soak ways to be sited minimum 5000mm from any buildings, where practicable and
subject to prevailing ground conditions to be ascertained on site and to comply with 8.4
Section 3 of B. S. 8301: 1985.
