On the 15 December 2016, the phased introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act 2006 commenced in the Isle of Man. It is now unlawful for a service provider to treat a disabled person less favourably for a reason related to their disability. Since 1 January 2018, service providers are required to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, such as providing extra help or making changes to the way services are provided.
