Mr Nathan Dawkins 8 Nursery Avenue Onchan IM3 4HG
In pursuance of his powers under the above Act and Order, the Minister for Infrastructure, does hereby REFUSE planning application 12/00367/B by Mr Nathan Dawkins for Creation of vehicular access and off road parking in front garden at 8 Nursery Avenue, Onchan, IM3 4HG for the following reason(s):
- The proposed development is contrary to Criteria (b), (c) and (g) of General Policy 2 as defined by the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 in that the proposed development would, if permitted, be visually intrusive and out of character within the streetscene by reason of the removal of the front boundary wall, the loss of a front garden area to hardstanding and the parking of cars thereon.
- The proposed development is contrary to Criterion (g) of General Policy 2 as defined by the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 in that the proposed development would, if permitted, adversely affect the amenity of the application property and the immediate adjoining residents and by reason increased noise pollution.
- The proposed development is contrary to Criterion (i) of General Policy 2 as defined by the Isle of Man Strategic Plan 2007 in that the proposed development would, if permitted, lead to hazardous vehicle movements on Nursery Avenue to the detriment of vehicular and pedestrian safety and would set an undesirable precedent for further unsatisfactory individual accesses onto Nursery Avenue.
