Planning application (15/00730/B (16th PreC)) was granted approval and subsequently signed off by building control in mid-2019. Since that time we have completed a number of the home improvements in stages (for example the re-configuration of the downstairs of the property, installation of bi-fold doors and pitched roof over the garage), but the refurbishments proposed have not yet been completed in entirety.
We are now seeking to construct the dorme window outlined in the plans. Our builder has discussed the construction of the dorme with building control (and as part of the a building inspection visited the property to understand the planned dorme construction further) and has been advised that the dorme construction should move slightly further forward on the roof in order that it is more aligned with the needs of the external wall, rather than being built up off the upstairs floor of the property.
Therefore I would like to propose the following minor amendments to the approved planning permission as follows:
I consider that these are minor amendments to the existing approved planning application as except the property will remain unchanged i.e. the property will continue to have a single dorme window, with a wholly glazed front which is entirely consistent in terms of size and overall location on the property (i.e. it will still be on the same roof pitch and central on that side of the property). Any visual or other impact from the amendments will be minimal due to the existing planning approval being granted for a dorme window in a substantially similar form and location on the property, nature of the property site, the minor nature of the proposed amendments. The principal reason for the requested amendment is due to the current advice of building control regarding the construction of the dorme window.
