Environment Policy 35
Permits only development preserving/enhancing Conservation Area character/appearance, protect special features. Assessed against chimney-mounted antennas not protruding above roofline, coloured to match, minimal visual impact in town centre with existing dishes; overall neutral impact, positive by removing from Registered Building.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
Colour coating
Within one month of the antennas and their supporting structures being installed, they shall be colour coated to match the render of the chimney stack. Any replacement or modification of the render or telecommunications equipment shall be colour coated to match the existing render within one month of it being carried out. Reason: In the interest of visual amenity and to minimise any impact on the Conservation Area.
No protrusion above chimney
No part of the telecommunications infrastructure hereby permitted shall be installed in such a way as to protrude above the height (excluding the height of any chimney pots) of the chimney stack onto which it is mounted. Reason: To ensure that the development is carried out in accordance with the approved plans in the interests of visual amenity and to minimise any impact on the Conservation Area.
Removal of redundant equipment
In the event of the antennas erected under this approval becoming redundant, they must be taken down along with all ancillary infrastructure and be removed from the site within 3 months of the cessation of the use. Any necessary repair work to the chimney stack, as a result of any damage caused by removal of the infrastructure hereby approved, to return the chimney stack to its current appearance, must also be carried out within 3 months. Reason: To ensure that any redundant infrastructure is removed.
