Memo produced 23.11.2017 Representation from the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) Highways Division- PA Ref 17/01086/B Applicant Mr Robert Currey Agent - Dave Luton Design Site Address Mill House Old Castletown Road Santon Isle Of Man IM4 1EX Highway Services Comment made Do not oppose with condition/comment Highways Representation history for this case. DNOC on 15/11/17 Conditions (if any) 17/01086 The proposals are to convert an existing outbuilding into a living accommodation for an elderly relative of the applicant. Whilst the principle of development is acceptable, there are concerns over the access from the site onto Old Castletown Road in terms of its acute angle of approach and poor vision. It is accepted the resident of the property will not drive, however, there is potential for an increase in traffic movements at this substandard access from healthcare and other visitors. Notwithstanding the above, Highways are mindful to support the application on the basis that the use is restricted to the main house and not sold on as a separate residential development. Condition - The converted outbuilding will remain for the sole benefit of the applicant not sold on as a separate house unless otherwise approved in writing by the Dept. Reason: in the interest of highway safety. Highways Officer TR Code definition
