The proposals will result in an increase of bedrooms from
7 to 9. This will innevitabley lead to an increase in
parking demand at peak times. The applicant states they
can provide 11 spaces which may prove difficult at times
but is manageable based on the cooperation between
guests and the hotel management team.
Given the sites central location within Castletown and
good public transport links to the Airport and Douglas I
am satisfied there are alternatives to using a
car...particularly for guest / tourists visiting the Island.
As a result, the proposals are considered accepteable.
Please attach the following condition to any future
consent
The car parking area as shown on the approved plan
(17010 03) shall remain free from obstruction and
maintained for the benefit of car parking associated with
the Hotel use only.
Reason:In the interest of Highway Safety.
