Dear Sir/Madam,
I would like to make the following comments in relation to application 17/00021/B (Thie Vane, Truggan Road, Port St. Mary):
- In general I have no objection to the proposal. The trees marked for removal are small or poor quality specimens and, from a tree point of view, the visual impact will be minimal.
- The early-mature ash tree just beyond the north-west corner of the site boundary, adjacent to the road, is marked for retention. This is a poor quality, category C (BS5838:2012) tree, due to its poor state of health. The excavations required here are likely to cause damage to what I suspect is an already poor root system. My advice would be to remove this tree and replant with a new ash, sycamore or oak when the development is complete.
Regards,
