General Policy 2
Requires development in accordance with zoning to respect site/surroundings in siting, layout, scale, form, design; not adversely affect character, amenities, highways, wildlife, views, etc. Officer assessed the extension's scale (similar footprint, modest height increase), design (matching roof profile, appropriate cladding/windows), and finishes as enhancing the modern sports building without harming the college's distinguished setting or other GP2 aspects.
Community Policy 5
Generally permits improvements/extensions to schools and higher education institutions if sited/designed per other policies, with regard to community use and open space. The proposal accords with the college zoning and was found compliant with GP2, supporting approval for additional sports facilities.
