1.1 The above application was permitted 21.6.2017, subject to the following condition;
No development shall commence on site until details and samples of the materials to be used for the external walls and details of the materials to be used for the roof, windows and garage doors have been submitted to and approved in writing by the Department. Development shall be carried out in accordance with the approved details.
Reason: In the interests of visual amenity and the character and appearance of the area.
2.0 Proposal
2.1 The applicant submitted a brick sample—red to match the adjacent barns, and details of the roofing, fascia, windows and garage door. The roof is to be merlin grey box profile sheeting with wood grain effect garage door in moss green with timber moss green fascia board and white windows to match the house.
3.0 Recommendation
3.1 The reason for the condition was in the interests of visual amenity as only limited details were provided as part of the application. The proposed materials provide a link between the existing farm buildings and the main dwelling, which is considered appropriate given its location between the two.
3.2 It is considered that the proposed materials satisfy condition 2 and the applicant should be advised that the use of the brick and details for garage door, windows and roof received 3 July 2017 are considered acceptable.
