The application sought permission to replace the rear door at a mid-terraced two-storey dwelling in the Woodbourne Road Conservation Area. The new door is uPVC with two obscure glazed glass panels and located in the rear yard, screened from public view by boundary walls and not visible from the rear service lane.

The main issue was the impact on the character and appearance of the Woodbourne Road Conservation Area and the individual property.
Environment Policy 35
EP35 requires that within Conservation Areas, development must preserve or enhance the character or appearance of the Area and protect special features from inappropriate development. The officer assessed the rear door replacement, noting it would not be visible from public views due to screening by yard walls, thus preserving the area's character without harm or enhancement needed. No tension arose as the non-visible location fully complied.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
