Town and Country (Development Procedure) Order 2005
Stephen Halsall Douglas Borough Council Town Hall Ridgeway Street Douglas IM99 1AD
In pursuance of powers granted under the above Act and Order the PLANNING COMMITTEE of the Department of Infrastructure does hereby REFUSE the following application made on behalf of:
Name: Douglas Borough Council Proposal: Approval in principle for erection of a covered events hall at: Tennis Courts Nobles Park Douglas Isle Of Man
which was considered on 30th April 2012, for the reasons set out below. Date of Issue: 3rd May 2012 Murray House Mount Havelock Douglas
Reason(S) For Refusal:
- It has not been demonstrated that the proposed use of the building for a wide range of events during evenings would not result in the potential for unacceptable noise and disturbance to local residents contrary to General Policy 2
- It has not been demonstrated that the position and scale of the proposed building would not have an adverse visual impact upon the wider surrounding area and upon the amenity of Noble's Park.
- The application provides no information to demonstrate how the requirement for 180 car parking spaces to serve the proposed building would be met.
This decision was made by the Planning Committee constituted in accordance with Article 3(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) Order 2005.
