Environment Policy 16
Policy supports reuse of redundant rural buildings for tourist or small-scale commercial uses if the building is no longer required for original purpose, structurally sound, accommodates new use without extension or adverse change, and avoids unacceptable traffic. Officer confirmed barn redundant and unused, no changes needed, use limited to on-site guests to prevent traffic issues, preserving fabric of visual interest in High Landscape Value area.
Time limit
The development hereby approved shall be begun before the expiration of four years from the date of this decision notice. Reason: To comply with article 14 of the Town and Country Planning (Development Procedure) (No2) Order 2013 and to avoid the accumulation of unimplemented planning approvals.
Restricted use
The building may be used for the serving of food for those already visiting or staying at the premises and at other times for storage and/or for agricultural purposes. Reason: the lane serving the site is not suitable for a significant increase in traffic and as such a commercial cafe open to the public would not be acceptable at this site.
