Housing Policy 15
Housing Policy 15 states that the extension or alteration of existing traditionally styled properties in the countryside will normally only be approved where these respect the proportion, form and appearance of the existing property, and only exceptionally where they measure more than 50% of the existing building in terms of floor space. The officer assessed the replacement porch/utility as modest and of similar scale to the existing, thus respecting the original dwelling's character without exceeding the floor space limit. No tension or exceptional circumstances were noted.
