General Policy 6
General Policy 6 permits external advertisements in towns and villages if they are of high standard design and materials relating well to the building/site, in keeping with the area without detracting from it, and located to avoid highway safety hazards. The officer tested the illuminated fascia, roundel, and window signs against these criteria, finding them acceptable due to high quality materials (aluminium, vinyl, LED), good fit with the bank building and mixed retail/bank/cafe town centre surroundings, no detraction from the area, and no safety issues.
