Introduction
This application seeks permission to make alterations to existing signage on a building located within an of predominantly office use. The building is set within a Victorian terrace.
The Site
The application site is the curtilage of 19 Mount Havelock, Douglas. The site is located on the corner of Mount Havelock and Christian Road.
The Proposal
This application seeks approval for alterations to existing signage. The signage currently displays the wording "McGarrigle + Jackson architects and urban designers." This would be altered to "McGarrigle architects architects and urban designers." The new signage would replicate the existing.
Development Plan Policies
The application site is located within an area of Predominantly Office use by the Douglas Local Plan. The site is within a Conservation Area.

The following previous planning application is considered relevant to the determination of this proposal:
04/00059/D Erection of advertising signage to front elevation. Permitted.
Representations
The Highways Division of the Department of Infrastructure does not oppose this application.
Douglas Corporation does not object to this application.
Assessment
The alterations are minor in that they replace one word in an existing signage display with another of the same type, style and size. There would be no adverse impacts upon the surrounding area and the character of the Conservation Area would be preserved.
